JIN Jian is a PhD student of Nantes University, and works in the laboratory GEPEA (GEnie des Procédés Environnement - Agroalimentaire) UMR CNRS 6144, France. He has completed his Master’s degree from Renmin University of China (Majoring in Food Science, 2010-2012) and Bachelor's degree from China Agricultural University (Majoring in Bio-engineering, 2006-2010). He is supported by China Scholarship Council (CSC) and will finish his PhD study in 2016.
His PhD is a contribution to the study of biomass and hydrocarbon oils production kinetics in Botryococcus braunii continuous cultures (CAER program). The aim is to characterize the effects of different environmental factors on the biomass and lipid [triglycerides and hydrocarbons] productivities by cultivation of different strains of B. braunii within controlled photobioreactors. The experimental data will be used for further improvement of culture systems.
He is interested in cultivation of microalgae in bioreactor for production of biofuels and other high value products.
